How long until I get my deer head back?

Another question I get a lot is "How long until I get my deerhead back"?

Right now, game heads are taking 4 to 6 months. Lifesize mammals are taking 5-7 months.

Freezing fish before mounting.

I get a lot of calls asking how a fish should be cared for before bringing it to your taxidermist. Obviously the best
answer is get it to your taxidermist immediately. While that is not always an option, the fish can be kept on ice until it's brought in if it will be for a short time. (Less than 12 hours, depending on temp.) If you are going to freeze it for any amount of time, I prefer this way. Soak a towel with water and wrap around your fish. Protect the tail from being bent if possible. Place that soaked towel with your fish in a plastic bag.

What do I need to get a reproduction done?

Just remember to get a length and girth measurement and a few good high qualitycloseup pictures(especially the head) of your fish for a beautiful replica of YOUR fish.

One of the most common questions I get asked is "How long will it take to complete my mount"? That answer varies but I work on commercial items in the order recieved. As of today, the average skin mounted fish will take about 120 days. A reproduction fish will depend on the species and size.
